Having already owned a Compass pool with a Vantage in-floor self-cleaning system, Geoff and Daphne Campbell wouldn’t settle for anything less when installing a pool in their magnificent new home in Townsville.
When Geoff and Daphne Campbell were building a new home backing onto the golf course in Townsville, they decided to have a pool installed at the same time. Having had a Compass pool at their previous home, it had to be a Compass composite fibreglass pool, and the Vantage in-floor self-cleaning system, exclusive to Compass, was an absolute must.
The Vantage operating system is a unique water circulation system designed to reduce chemical usage, eliminate cold spots and keep the pool free of debris without any need for regular hand vacuuming of any other cleaning equipment. The system eliminates all the hard work that is typically needed to look after a pool – manual cleaning, heavy lifting of automatic cleaners and the endless task of keeping the water balanced, healthy and safe to swim in.
Like a flowing mountain stream, a Compass Vantage system regularly circulates and constantly refreshes the water in a pool, eliminating ‘dead spots’ where algae and bacteria can accumulate and allowing dramatic savings on chemical usage while enjoying a cleaner, healthier pool.
“After having a Vantage system in our previous pool we wouldn’t have another pool without it,” says Geoff. “We didn’t want a large pool, just somewhere to cool off and for when family and friends get together, and it had to be installed while the house was being built as it couldn’t be done afterwards.”
The Campbell’s also wanted the pool to add to the resale value of the property, and having the Vantage self-cleaning system eliminates all the maintenance work and chemical costs that can put buyers off purchasing a house with a pool.
Geoff and Daphne called Jeff Geering of Composite Pool Solutions in Rockhampton, who drove eight hours to Townsville to give them a quote on their new Compass pool and conduct a site inspection.
“After our discussion, the Campbell’s decided on a 7.15m XTrainer slimline pool,” says Jeff. “They also decided on the ‘Quartz’ colour, an energy-efficient Hayward Maxflo pump, chlorinator and sand filter and Davey lights. And of course the Vantage in-floor self-cleaning system!
“I also recommended the addition of a debris canister as they have a lot of gum trees on the property. The canister is a godsend and catches the leaves before they can get into the filter. We highly recommend it for properties with a lot of trees. In this case, Compass provided a complimentary canister as the Campbell’s were repeat customers.”
The pool has been installed at house level, 700mm out of the ground, and is surrounded by outdoor tiles that match the indoor tiles inside the Campbell’s’ magnificent new home. Now landscaped, the completed pool has been positioned next to the family room, creating a restful view across the pool to the golf course beyond.
